The euro eased against the lari over the three sessions shown, from 3.0084 on 17 September to 2.9911 on 19 September, a decline of 0.0173. The dollar was close to static across the same days, moving from 2.6081 to 2.6071, so what movement there was in the week's rates was concentrated in the euro. For a company invoicing in euros the shift is small, but it runs one way in all three sessions.
Annual inflation was 5.6% in August, 0.1 percentage points above July's 5.5% and below the 5.8% recorded in June. Three readings inside that range describe a series holding a level rather than moving in a direction.
Growth is where the numbers stand apart. Real GDP grew 9.0% in the first quarter of 2026 on provisional data that Geostat revises, after provisional readings of 6.7% in the fourth quarter of 2025 and 6.4% in the third. The first-quarter figure should be treated as subject to change.
The National Bank of Georgia left the monetary policy rate at 8.25% on 9 September, the same level as at the two preceding decisions shown and 0.25 percentage points above the 8.00% year-end rate for 2025.
