The Russian rouble was the clearest mover against the lari in the sessions shown. On 28 August, 100 roubles bought 3.0496 lari, down from 3.1509 on 22 August — a fall of 0.1013 lari and the lowest reading in the window from 19 to 28 August.
Everything else was close to static. The dollar stood at 2.6125 lari on 28 August against 2.6145 on 19 August, and spent the whole window between 2.6121 and 2.6195. The Azerbaijani manat was similarly unmoved, at 1.5370 after 1.5379. The euro is the secondary story: 3.0412 on 28 August, after 3.0551 the previous day and a high of 3.0585 on 22 August. For the Armenian dram, 1000 units rose to 7.1652 lari from 7.1288.
For a business settling in dollars or manat, these sessions change no pricing decision. Rouble receipts — remittances, or exports to Russia — converted into fewer lari on 28 August than on 22 August. For context, the National Bank of Georgia has held its refinancing rate at 8.25% at its recent decisions (National Bank of Georgia; Civil.ge).
